It is not only Sweden where crayfish season is a time for celebration. Also in China the crayfish is a beloved delicacy and therefor a good opportunity to bring the two countries mutual love for the tasty crustacean to FEI! 

China is the number one producer in the world of crayfish by a landslide, but it is also the number one consumer. In the Middle Kingdom they are so dedicated to the culinary pleasures of the crayfish they even have a university program dedicated to the culinary arts of the crayfish. Crayfish are often eaten curbside at night where tables line the streets and seafood restaurants cook up mountains of crayfish as nightlife kicks off. Friends and family gather to munch on hot steaming crayfish while loud cheers of ”ganbei” echoes through the night.

We're bringing this experience to Gothenburg
FEI invite you to take part in our first Chinese crayfish party. We will fuse the Swedish long tables crayfish party with Chinese cooking technique. In true Gothenburg style we will use langoustines but we will cook them Chinese style! We will offer both a milder version with the aromatic Chinese east coast flavorings but we will also cook crayfish in the blistering Sichuan style where the crayfish are stir fried with spicy chilis and Sichuan pepper. 

To add to the festivities we’ll prepare special Chinese beverages to add to the festive atmosphere. 
Expect Chinese drinking songs, drinking games and endless ganbeis!
